We offer a full day (7-8 hours) sightseeing tour of Christchurch and the Port hills. You can also arrange your own tours to take in places that you are interested in. This could include Attractions like the Antarctic Centre, Ferrymead Historic Park or a day spent relaxing and sampling what our award winning wineries have to offer. But you won't miss out because some sightseeing can also be included in any itinerary. It's up to you. Contact us with your requirements and we will make a tour tailored to your needs.

Itinerary

Your tour begins at 9.00 am with pick up from your ship by an authentic London Cab and a professional driver.

We make our way round the Port hills taking in the views of Lyttelton and harbour before arriving in Sumner, a seaside suburb of Christchurch. There will be time for a stroll on the beach (Tea, Coffee, scones, jam and cream provided for a morning tea)

Next we continue around the hills and estuary to the Christchurch Gondola. From here you will take the ride up to the top of Mount Cavendish where you will have spectacular panoramic views of Lyttelton Harbour, the Port Hills, Christchurch and on clear days the view up the coast towards Kaikoura and the beautiful Southern Alps.There is a restaurant/cafe/souvenir shop at the top. The time tunnel gives an infiormative display and show on the history of the Bank's peninsula and Christchurch.

Now into Christchurch and our historic, lively and much loved cultural precinct. Gothic architecture, Trams, the Botanic Gardens and of course the London Cab make for a very english feel.

There are a lot of things to see and do in the heart of the city. Time for a bit of lunch. You can just stroll around the Arts Centre and Botanic gardens or there are plenty of activities. You can go Punting on the Avon river or hire a boat from the Antigua boatsheds. Take a ride for 20 minutes on one of the historic Christchurch trams or relax in one of the many bars or cafes. This is your time so you choose.

Finally we visit the International Antarctic Centre which creates the atmosphere of really being there. There are penguins and the hogland ride to enjoy aswell as a lot of informative and interactive displays.

Time now to return to your ship. Travelling back through Christchurch we reach Lyttelton via the Tunnel. We try to get you back at a reasonable time around 4.30pm.

Entry fees for the gondola and Antarctic Centre are not included.
